Minolta Cameras
Minolta Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company that manufactures cameras, camera accessories, fax machines, photocopiers and laser printers. It was founded in 1928 in Osaka, Japan. Minolta was known for making the first integrated autofocus 35mm SLR camera system before the cheapest digital camera was ever available.
In 1929, Nifcarette is the first camera marketed by the company. In 1947, the Minolta 35 was introduced. It is the first successful 35 mm rangefinder camera. It had the Leica specification. In March 31, 2006, Konica Minolta Photo Imaging, Inc. announced that they will stop the camera business. Since April 1, 2006, Sony Corporation is providing customer service to the cameras of Konica, Minolta and Konica Minolta.
The Minolta camera DiMAGE Z20 is a digital camera which has a 5.0 megapixel resolution. It has an 8 times optical zoom. The CCD is a 1/2.5-type interline primary –color CCD. The camera sensitivity is auto and 50/100/200/320 ISO equivalents. The lens is a 6-48mm, f/3.2-f/3.4. It has 11 elements in 9 groups. For the recording media, it uses SD memory card or MultiMedia Card. The internal storage for files is has a size approximately 14.5MB. The autofocus system of the camera is a combination of a passive AF sensor with the video AF system. The Autofocus area is a 3-point wide focus area. The focus modes are single shot AF, continuous AF, full-time AF. These are for the autofocus mode and there is the manual focus mode.
The Dyna 5D/Maxxum 5D is a digital SLR camera with built-in flash and interchangeable lenses. The lens mount is a Minolta type A bayonet. The image sensor of this camera is an interline primary color CCD with interlace scan. It has an efeective of 6.1 megapixiels. The autofocus system is a TTL phase detection system. The autofocus system sensor is a CCD line which has 9 points and 8 lines with center cross –hair sensor. The AE system metering is a TTL metering with multi-segment metering, center weighted metering and spot metering.
The viewfinder of the camera is a fixed eye-level system with roof mirror type pentaprism. The dimension of this camera is 130.5mm x 92.5mm x 66.5mm and weighs 590 grams without batteries, memory card and other accessories.The Maxxum 5 is a 35mm SLR camera. The dimensions are 5.0inches width x 3.43 inches height x 2.38 inches diameter. It weighs 11.82 oz. camera body only not including the battery. This camera has a built-in flash with autofocus (AF) and autoexposure (AE).
